I like a cooking challenge, so threw these into the mix on Tuesday too! My friend Heidi’s birthday was on Monday and I wanted to bake her some cakes to celebrate and share at work on Wednesday. During a lull in the fish-pasta-pudding marathon, I whipped up a batch of Leon Better Brownies.
I’m still undecided on this recipe – they’re gorgoeous, don’t get me wrong. But they’re just a touch too rich for my liking, even when I skip the 320g chopped chocolate that’s meant to go into them, on top of the 200g melted chocolate! In their favour is being gluten-free and the addition of orange oil or zest is fantastic. I think I’m still more of a Nigella girl though.
The Leon cookbook is another recommendation though – it is fab.
